Summary Post: China
December 7th, 2012 by DC
I spent almost two months in China- quite a bit of it off the bike. It was an eye-opening experience in the world’s most populous country.
Here are the numbers!
- Days in country: 58
- Days riding: 16 (And a few more days of a little bit of riding to get to and from trains etc)
- Kilometres ridden: 1405km
- Running total (nearest 10km): 10560km
- Accom cost: ~¥2260 ($NZ452) (Less than $NZ8 a night)
- Other costs: ~¥8166 ($NZ1633) (This was pushed higher than expected because of train costs ($NZ300) and entry to tourist sites ($70). And of course the scam of the tea ceremony..)
- Favourite food/drink: Street-vendor dumplings and tasty BBQ (especially the tasty veges..)
- 3 nights on trains, 44 nights in hostels, and 12 in hotels
- Favourite photos (a few because it was a couple of months):
And my map of my route in China (Cyan is cycling, Green is the train, dark blue the boat, brown is driving and red is walking):
